City Engineer Scott Lang briefed the council on the Bennett Road bridge project and recommended awarding the construction engineering and administration work to Bros Engineering Inc.
"This is for the engineering support," Lang said, describing that the construction contract was awarded March 27 and that the recommended engineering services would provide administration, staking and construction engineering. He said the bridge project receives a state DOT bridge improvement grant that covers 80% of costs and that the city's share is 20% for the engineering support described.
Councilmember Bixell moved and Schubert seconded approval of the professional services agreement; the motion passed on a roll call vote. Lang said the contract is hourly and that actual expenditure will depend on the contractor's schedule and performance; if the contractor finishes early the city will spend less than the maximum reflected in the packet.
