Shelley updates infrastructure and summer programs as subdivision, water projects progress

Public Works Director Justin Johnson updated the council on several ongoing infrastructure projects on June 25. Crews in Parks Subdivision #2 are completing roads with curb and gutter expected by the week of July 7 and asphalt planned to follow a few weeks later. Justin said Fox Crossing completed a pre-construction meeting and expects to begin infrastructure work in early July, remove an old farmhouse and lay a 12-inch line up Center Street to the canal, with home foundations targeted around September.

Justin also reported progress on the city's 6-inch water-main project with H-K Contractors; the plan includes a temporary closure of the Longhurst and Fir intersection for a weekend to cross the line and perform the tap. Telecom crews (Fybercom) are reportedly operating seven crews and anticipate finishing in roughly two weeks; Direct Communications work related to the school project was said to be about two weeks from completion. Justin noted community events including the first movie in the park and a kids fair the following day.
