Park County commissioners voted to continue the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) allocation split used in prior years—85% to county road/schools needs and 15% to forest-service projects—and signed the SFY27 election and allocation form.

Commissioners reviewed the Secure Rural Schools (SRS) funding allocation options for state fiscal year 2027 and agreed to continue the previous allocation split of 85% to county needs (roads and schools) and 15% for required forest-service projects. Staff explained that federal guidance limits the county’s ability to take more than 85% under the current options and that continuing the status quo avoids additional complications while the county searches for a new finance director.
