Community Development Director Cory Shurtleff explained the purpose of redesignating elements of the code to improve clarity and internal consistency. Commissioner Jill Tatton urged that definitions and explanations be written in plain language so the public can readily understand them. Staff indicated the code overhaul is ongoing and that additional public outreach and plain-language revision will be part of subsequent drafts.
