Committee approves draft sheriff job description; plans public posting
Kent County's appointment committee agreed to post a draft sheriff job description as part of a public solicitation and to advertise via county social channels and the sheriff's association. The committee set an application window of two weeks.

Committee members reviewed a staff-drafted job description for the sheriff vacancy and agreed it should be published with the application packet for public transparency. "Yes. So, you know, we'll talk about the application process. But, yes, this will be part of, this will be part of the application, and this is for public, for public knowledge," County Clerk Lisa Postumas Lyons said when describing the posting plan.
