After executive session, Cache board approves several temporary aides and paraprofessionals

The Cache Public Schools Board convened an executive session at 7:04 p.m. on Sept. 8 to discuss hiring for Pre-K aide, Technology aide(s), and Special Education paraprofessional positions and to receive confidential legal advice per 25 O.S. §307(B)(1),(4). The board returned to open session at 7:56 p.m.; the Board President read a statement confirming those topics and stating that no action was taken during the closed session.

After returning to open session, the board approved multiple hires by 5-0 votes. The board approved hiring Zach Huibregtse and Carson Mullen as Technology aides (motions by Dr. Brian Gladwell; second by Mitch Dorrell). The board approved hiring Michael Mullen and Bailey Goodman as Special Education paraprofessionals and approved hiring Twila Henry as a Pre-K aide (motions/seconds recorded and all passed 5-0). Discussion on hiring Courtney Hudson as a Pre-K aide resulted in no action being taken.

Those present in executive session included board members and district staff Tammie Reynolds and Chad Hance, as recorded in the minutes. Before adjournment, board member Mitch Dorrell asked to have a statement included in the minutes: "Brad Seaton had no knowledge of a phone call made by Mitch Dorrell on social media." The minutes record no other disciplinary or hiring conditions tied to the executive session; the approved hires are recorded as authorized to begin on a temporary or school-year basis as listed in the agenda.
