The Selectboard voted to approve the Town’s 2025 Solid Waste Implementation Plan, authorizing the Selectboard Chair to sign the plan (motion by Taylor Prouty; seconded by James Ameden). The plan follows the State template used for municipal solid-waste planning.
Solid Waste Coordinator Esther Fishman and others briefed the Board on operational issues at the transfer station: Greg Heaton of Green Mountain Power confirmed a contract award for a power-upgrade to support a 30-amp increase, which will require installing lines to a structure or pedestal and separate underground amps to compactors. The Board agreed an engineering plan will be needed before the project goes out to bid. Fishman raised the need for a staging area for large debris and suggested limiting the size of materials accepted; she also recommended eliminating brush burning, noting the State may be moving in that direction.
