Staff responded that Parametrics was currently under contract with the city and that this action would function as an amendment or subsequent agreement to expedite work in light of resident safety concerns. One resident who spoke during public comment criticized prior consultant work for lacking clear data on parking impacts.
The motion authorizing the city manager to enter into the described contract carried on a 4–2 vote. Staff said consultant recommendations will be referred back to the council for direction before any physical traffic-calming measures are implemented.
