In the director's report, Dan (S3) highlighted several program successes and upcoming events, drawing special attention to participation statistics and recent publicity. He said Open Plus was used 13 times in July and 15 times in August and shared that a John Valiant presentation at the end of July drew "over 200" attendees.
Dan also noted a seed-library project that received local coverage and described plans for an Oct. 3 Canvas branch program in partnership with Utah Humanities featuring Heather B. Moore and Lisonbee Huang Merrill. He mentioned additional festival programming during the Wasatch Back Book Festival and that Dolly's will sell books at the Canvas event.
Board members described initiatives such as yoga for kids and new Beanstack challenges, and staff reported continued community engagement across regular story times and novel offerings. The board agreed to continue promoting author and festival partnerships as part of 2026 programming planning.
