Commissioners appoint canvassing board members and adjust workshop schedule

The County Auditor explained statutory requirements for the county canvassing board and asked the board to appoint two county commissioners to serve on it; the panel consists of the county auditor, the district court administrator, the mayor/chair of the largest municipality (Otsego), and two county board members. Commissioners nominated and then approved appointments for Commissioner Dietrich and Commissioner Moyna to serve on the canvassing board; the canvassing board is scheduled to convene on Friday, August 14 at 1:00 p.m.
The board also approved a motion to change the August 11 county board workshop start time to noon (from the usual 9:00 a.m.) to accommodate scheduling conflicts, and adopted recommendations to cancel the September 1 board meeting and the September 8 county board workshop with an alternate later date added. All scheduling motions were approved unanimously.
No further public-comment or scheduling controversies were raised; the Chair adjourned the meeting at 9:23 a.m.
