Wright County approved updates to its annual data-retention and public-records policy after a presentation noting a sharp rise in records requests and completion of a new data inventory. Clay, who led the presentation, said the county now inventories 439 distinct record types and has seen requests grow from 288 in 2023 to 366 in 2024 and 534 in 2025, with 335 requests already this year—on pace for more than 600.
