A staff member described the contract as "just the outside engineering costs that we already have put aside money for," and said the procurement follows the county's competitive-bidding arrangements. The board moved, seconded and approved authorization for engineering services for County Road 39; no commissioner opposed the motion.
Commissioners asked for clarification that the engineering fee was within existing project funding and staff confirmed it was an authorized project expense. The authorization allows staff to proceed with final design to meet funding timelines.
