The Tree Board reported that, on March 13 and March 18, members and public works crews fertilized trees planted within the last five years and planted four new basswood (linden) trees on Upper Fairfax. The board said the cost of fertilizer sticks used was covered by a demonstration city grant and that photos and an article were submitted to the local paper.
A Tree Board representative said staff and volunteers worked efficiently and that no additional funds had been spent since the prior report. The board plans to continue monitoring the new plantings and will meet again the following day to review ongoing maintenance.
