Staff framed the changes as editorial and specification updates—for example, construction and electrical inspection details and other clarification—rather than new regulatory requirements. Commissioners asked for clarification about the draft’s formatting and how new versus revised text was shown. The city engineer explained highlighted text was new and clouded text reflected modifications.
The motion to give a positive recommendation was moved by a commissioner (S4) and seconded by Commissioner Becker (S1). During roll call the commission recorded affirmative responses from Commissioners Adams, Haymouli, Becker, Gitterborn and Beecher. The commission’s recommendation will send the draft municipal code updates to the City Council for consideration.
