Select Board appoints temporary ethics liaison, discusses sheltering in updated emergency plan

The board discussed implementation of a recent state ethics law requiring municipal board members to complete ethics training and to designate a local liaison. One board member volunteered to serve temporarily as the liaison and the chair asked staff to compile materials and training schedules for distribution. Separately, the chair raised updates to the local emergency management plan (LEMP) that now include sheltering as an explicit component. Members discussed short-term shelter options — the white building, a church, or the school — and explored potential grant opportunities to fund generator capacity. The chair said he would call the school and other potential shelter providers and report back with a confirmed short-term shelter listing before town meeting.
