Dan gave the operational report, saying the library had to shift vendors after the bankruptcy of long-time supplier Baker & Taylor and that the system is now working with Ingram. "Baker and Taylor went bankrupt," Dan said, "so that was really kind of a curve ball I wasn't expecting." He also described a new events platform on the library website intended to simplify registration and back-end work.
Dan said the library applied for and appears likely to receive an LST grant that would fund Yoto audio players for branches. "I should have a contract maybe by the end of the week," Dan said about the grant process, adding the grant would allow the system to add Yoto players to branches and a starter collection of cards. The director also noted staff changes and training during recent administrative transitions and described coordination with neighboring libraries on Spanish-language outreach.
