Council approves Draft Future Land Use map and authorizes Act 181 opt-in
After a presentation by Shannon Haggett of the Vergennes Planning Commission, the council approved the Draft Future Land Use (FLU) Area Map and authorized staff to opt into Vermont Act 181 and apply for Tier 1B (and potentially Tier 1A) designation for growth areas; both votes were 6-0.

Shannon Haggett, chair of the Vergennes Planning Commission, presented future land-use opportunities and introduced the Draft Future Land Use (FLU) Area Map for the city. Following the presentation, the council voted to approve the Draft FLU Area Map as presented; Deputy Mayor Austin moved, Alderman Harder-Hyde seconded, and the motion passed 6-0.
