Residents raise drainage, sidewalk and rodent concerns during public input

During public input residents urged the council to pursue drainage fixes where runoff floods private property, improve crosswalks and e-scooter safety, repair dilapidated sidewalks and address rodent issues in specific neighborhoods.

Several residents used the public-comment period to press the council on neighborhood quality-of-life issues. One resident said storm runoff on the east side is flowing the wrong direction, entering a yard and "flood my property," and reported contacting the railroad and city with inconsistent responses about responsibility. The chair and staff agreed to double-check responsibility and follow up with the railroad and, if necessary, the city attorney.
