Planning commission forwards RC 24 Resort Core final plat to county manager

Planner Robinson presented the RC 24 final subdivision plat for parcels on High Mountain Road adjacent to the Apex development and asked the commission to forward a positive recommendation to the county manager. Robinson said the plat clarifies parcel boundaries, ski and utility easements and will enable a future low‑impact permit to extend High Mountain Road for access. He noted that Summit County and the applicant have a draft access easement and that service providers reported no fundamental service problems.

An applicant representative, Jason Rickards, said Robbie Thompson was ill and he was stepping in; he thanked staff for work on easements and said the applicant remains available to answer questions. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about how far the road extension would reach and how the low‑impact permitting process differs from other development permits. Robinson explained that a low‑impact permit is an administrative review (with service‑provider checks and bonding/grading requirements) but can be brought to the commission if significant concerns arise. A motion to forward a positive recommendation to the county manager passed on a voice vote.
