Madison council hears engineer: WWTP decommissioning quote raised budget concerns
Village Engineer said he has a decommissioning cost estimate for the wastewater treatment plant and "is not happy with the number," prompting the fiscal officer to revise the 2025 budget. Council approved a related purchase order not to exceed $5,000 for effluent removal.

Village Engineer Eric Haibach told council he is coordinating with Chivers Construction Co. and the EPA on a plan to decommission the Waste Water Treatment Plant and said he has "received a cost for this; however, he is not happy with the number so he is hoping that cost wise this will drop."
