Board members approved hiring for two positions during the Feb. 19 meeting: an early childhood intervention coordinator and a food-systems coordinator. Staff said the food-systems coordinator post was posted as a one-year, grant-funded temporary role; the board discussed splitting the role and offering 0.5 FTE to Kamari Moller while the district works to fill the remaining 0.5.
“We have a hire to add for food systems coordinator. 0.5 of that position for Kamari Moller,” staff (speaker 5) said, explaining the district offered one half of the role and is attempting to create the other half as part of a team approach. The board discussed timing and agreed to name the remainder of the position at the March meeting while approving the hires so candidates could begin work.
A motion to approve the two hires was made and seconded, and was carried; the board also moved to approve the partial appointment for the food-systems coordinator and to confirm the final hiring details at the March meeting. Staff said the food-systems coordinator position is grant-funded and temporary and that the district has funds identified for the role.
