The board discussed two procurement options: (1) separate contracts (abatement now, finishes later, estimated $5,000–$10,000 for a subsequent small-scale contractor) or (2) an integrated general-contractor package that would add roughly 20% to overall costs but could streamline scheduling and reduce risk of delays.
Board members instructed staff to begin the first phase (design and abatement bidding documents) while returning later with proposals for the finishes contract and timeline. The board also noted PBS's proposal assumes the district will provide digital drawings and that PBS's scope does not include replacement of flooring or finishes.
