District creates $50,000 technology replacement fund; curriculum software and PD allocations reviewed

Staff proposed starting a technology replacement fund with a $50,000 seed to address aging classroom devices and monitors acquired during the pandemic. "So we're starting that fund... We're gonna start at 50,000 and then, you'll probably need to transfer 25,000 a year," the presenter said while explaining the plan for phased equipment replacement.
Committee members also questioned software and curriculum allocations; staff explained that subscription-based curriculum and licensing drive recurring software costs (roughly $30,000 shown in the budget) and that an additional $20,000 was added as a professional development allocation at the superintendent’s request.
