Library director reports growth in programs, recommends planning for larger space

Laura presented the library’s annual report, outlining revenue sources (City of Swisher, Johnson County, City of Shueyville, and the State of Iowa) and program growth that she attributed to added staffing. She said the library increased programs from 74 to 101 and reported about 900 more attendees this year; she also noted computer use declined after the school issued devices to students. “The basic finding is we’re too small for what we are,” she said, summarizing the state space-needs assessment funded by a state grant.
