Committee member Justin Dalley reported that city crews removed seven dead trees on the north side between 200 East, 300 East, and Center Street and also removed a large, historically significant tree at 200 East and 100 South that was approximately 80% dead.
Vern Fridley reminded the committee about three dead black walnut trees on First South between First West and Fourth West that had been approved for removal. Chair Heidi Toia noted a resident report of a leaning tree across from Dairy Freeze that could pose a storm hazard; Justin Dalley said staff would check whether the tree is on private property and address any risk to Main Street if necessary.
