The Summit County Heritage & Landmark Commission voted to forward a draft ordinance and resolution to county council that would transfer selected duties from the historical society code (Title 2, Chapter 37) into the commission’s chapter so the commission can assume museum and historical-record responsibilities. The motion to forward the draft included two amendments the commission requested: authorize the commission to accept donations of property for the museum and require that any public dissemination be coordinated with county communications and the Department of Heritage and Arts.
