The county engineer (agency official) reported completion milestones for Community Crossings 2025 work in multiple areas and provided updates on current bridge projects, including Bridge 69 where piling work progresses and Bridge 134 which is behind schedule due to an active utility line.
On the procurement front, the engineer announced three sealed bids for a roofing project and read the amounts on the record: Milton Hunter at $1,385,285; TRG Services at $1,498,008.29; and TI Source at $1,744,000. The board moved to take all bids under review.
The engineer said the roofing scope covers the full front portion of the building and explained that scoping changes and material upgrades contributed to higher unit-cost estimates. Commissioners asked clarifying questions about what the bids covered and were told the county scoped the work to provide apples-to-apples comparisons and preserve options to change design for cost savings.
