Representatives of Broken Arrow Seniors updated council on membership growth, expanded programming and community engagement. Lori Hill (speaker 16) introduced Kim Crenshaw (speaker 17), who said the center's active membership is just under 3,200 and that May daily attendance averaged roughly 546 people. Crenshaw noted a growth in programming — more than 115 weekly classes — and heavy volunteer engagement: "We clocked over 24,000 hours of volunteerism either in the center or in our community this year," she said.
Crenshaw said the center served 24,256 meals in 2024 through a partnership with the Tulsa and Creek County nutrition program, up from about 17,000 the prior year, and that topsoil/renovation work temporarily reduced meal counts while the kitchen was renovated. She also described pilot after‑hours programming that averaged 50 attendees for a May class and announced extended program hours to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning immediately, plus a memory‑cafe pilot for families affected by early‑stage dementia scheduled to start in August.
Council members praised the center and recognized staff and volunteers. The presentation underscored seniors’ role as active community volunteers and connected the center's fundraising and programming with upcoming community events like the Founders Day luau.
