The developers' workforce model assigns cohorts to sequential tasks: one cohort builds a unit in the factory, another installs it on-site, and a third finishes interiors. "The 1st cohort will build this house in the factory. The 2nd cohort will come and install it, and the 3rd cohort will build out all the interior finishes," the presentation said. Proceeds from home sales will feed the training program, and the team said employers have been involved in marketing homes to incoming workers.
Committee members raised technical questions (wind/snow load compliance and local building codes) and the presenters said structural calculations required by code would be completed before permits are issued; they also noted some prototype units may miss the show timeline due to production delays.
