Brooks County Commissioners' Court voted unanimously on June 3 to create an Emergency Management Coordinator position for Ruben Ramirez, setting a base salary of $40,000 and authorizing an additional $15,000 to cover supervision and maintenance of county communications tower operations. Commissioner Horacio Villarreal III moved the measure and Commissioner Martin "Marty" Cabrera seconded; the court approved the motion without dissent.
