The chair of the Champaign County Board opened a public hearing on July 23, 2026, to consider Resolution No. 2026148, which would raise the recording fee assessed on transfers of property ownership from $15 to $25, the chair said. The clerk read the official notice listing the meeting time and location at the Shields Carter Meeting Room in the Benin Administrative Center, 102 East Main Street, Urbana.
