District agreement completed; state aid distribution awaits approval and county budget

Annie reported the district negotiated agreement for 2026–2027 was completed in May and had been submitted prior to the June 1 due date; the district now awaits approval. "That process was completed in May and the agreement and member libraries... I believe their due date was June 1 so it was prior to that. So we are awaiting approval for that and... once we do receive that, then we will be ready to receive our district state aid allocation," she said.
She added that the district expects the county budget to pass in time for allocation but noted uncertainty about delays: "Once the budget passes, which hopefully, you know, won't drag on like it did last year... Everyone I've talked to said they're really think it'll be before the July 4 because nobody wants to mess up $2.50." The board received this as an informational update; no formal vote was taken on the agreement at the meeting.
