Annie, the district administrator, told the board the 5th annual Delco Juneteenth celebration will be held at Rose Tree Park tomorrow from 4 to 7 p.m., with food trucks, vendors, music and educational programming and a DCL station near the playground and story walk. "Tomorrow, there's the 5th annual Delco Juneteenth celebration at Rose Tree Park from 4 to 7PM," she said.
Annie also outlined several library summer initiatives: the countywide Beanstack reading challenge (log minutes through Aug. 15 for prizes drawn the week of Aug. 17, with a special adult raffle to be pulled July 3 for three sets of four Philadelphia Union vs. New York Red Bulls tickets on July 22), the Journey Across Delco program for children visiting all 28 branch locations to collect dinosaur trading cards, and Science in the Summer sessions for children entering grades 2–6 focused this year on chemistry. "With Beanstack, you can log minutes as you read to earn badges and rewards," Annie said, and staff directed patrons to delcolibraries.org for dates and registration.
Members did not debate or vote on these events; they were presented as informational items and part of routine programming and outreach. The administrator encouraged board members and the public to attend and promoted continued social-media previews of the upcoming discovery-layer catalog launch.
