Rogers County accepts $300,000 sheriff's grant; awards knee wall contract for firearms range

Rogers County commissioners on Jan. 5, 2026 approved a $300,000 grant for the Sheriff's Office and awarded a separate procurement to construct part of the county's firearms range.
By unanimous vote the board adopted Resolution 2026-121 accepting 2025 Sheriff's Office funding in the amount of $300,000. The minutes state the funds will be used to purchase new patrol vehicles and to construct a firearm range tower. At the same meeting the board awarded Bid 2026-29 (Knee Wall for Firearms Range) to the low bidder, Mike Gibson Manufacturing, for $18,186.24; payment for that contract is to be made from the county's Use Tax fund.
Both items passed on motions recorded with unanimous roll-call votes. The funding acceptance was recorded as a formal resolution and the knee wall award followed an earlier tabling at the Dec. 22, 2025 meeting.
