Ellis County commissioners unanimously approved amendments to the county’s Flood Damage Prevention Order to align finished‑floor elevation requirements with recently updated drainage standards. Staff explained the update followed changes adopted to the county’s drainage standards on March 31 and that the revisions increase required finished‑floor elevations by 3 feet in unstudied flood areas and by 2 feet in studied areas.
