County staff and commissioners spent substantial time on public-safety communications and IT. Staff member (S3) explained that some office equipment is owned by the DMV and cannot be altered, which complicates installing new payment terminals and local improvements. "The equipment in our office is not county owned. It's owned by the DMV," S3 said while outlining plans to phase in credit-card machines and new wireless setups.
