Commissioners approve Phase 1 lab relocation plan; staff cited $58,021.66 cost

The presenter said the lab cannot operate during parts of construction and that relocation and validation are necessary for patient‑care services to continue. Commissioners directed staff to coordinate the move and return with final payment mechanics and oversight plans.

Commissioners discussed timing and operational impact: staff said construction inside the lab area is scheduled to start in August and that validation after relocation typically takes two weeks to a month. One commissioner moved to proceed with the plan and a second was recorded; the workshop record states "motion carried." Staff were assigned to work with county administrators Lucy and Rhonda to finalize when and how invoices will be paid.
