Legislators press county on data sharing, GI unit and bond-funded upgrades

Legislator Kunzio and other committee members asked detailed questions about county systems and whether municipalities have completed the opt‑in process for data‑sharing funded through bonds.
"We, the board of legislators, have passed bonds for updating the technology systems to share information amongst the municipalities and the county police," Kunzio said, asking how far implementation has progressed and whether the real‑time crime center is handling the sharing.
Retail representatives said LPR alerts and a real‑time center have been effective in some cases; they urged outreach so smaller municipal departments know how to opt in. "I know we've had great deal of success through the real time and probably maybe with the GI... they put alerts out and stuff," a presenter said.
Committee members agreed to follow up with the county police and relevant vendors to identify which municipalities are connected and whether additional outreach or funding is necessary to achieve countywide participation.
