The court debated and amended a proposed policy that sets guardrails for precinct emergency spending and reimbursement during declared disasters. The original policy included lower per‑precinct limits; commissioners amended the proposal and approved a higher per‑precinct cap of $4,000,000 (per precinct) for county‑declared incidents that are FEMA‑ or state‑reimbursable, while keeping a $500,000 cap in place for certain county‑declared emergency supplements that are less likely to be reimbursable.
