The Commissioners Court approved a comprehensive rewrite of the Lubbock County purchasing policy that updated thresholds and procurement methods to reflect recent state changes and county size. Purchasing Director Clint Werman said the rewrite incorporates a $100,000 formal bidding trigger (reflecting state updates), raises the county micro‑purchase threshold from $1,500 to $5,000, adds a fixed asset policy, and clarifies BPOs, RFPs and other procurement categories.
