County signs on to additional MIP training, authorizes budget-module one-on-ones

Calhoun County officials authorized two actions to improve the county’s use of its fund-accounting software, MIP. The court authorized the county auditor to sign a one-year, unlimited-user training package from Momentum Software for $3,004.99 with an additional $99 pass-through fee, with staff saying the package includes roughly 30 courses to expand internal usage of the software.
"MIP is our fund accounting software, and we are wanting to learn more about all the features that we currently don't utilize," a staff member explained. Commissioners also authorized one-on-one budget-module training (estimated $1,000 for 4 hours, billed only for actual time used) to consolidate the budget process into the MIP platform ahead of 2027. Both motions were moved, seconded and approved by the court.
