Following a lunch break while budget staff recalculated add/delete impacts and overtime estimates, Collin County budget staff presented a balanced general-fund scenario that preserves the current tax rate of 0.149343.
Staff recommended several budget amendments, including using ARPA interest earnings to cover $7,160,000 in permanent improvement requests and a $300,000 transfer from the repair-and-replace fund into facilities asset-management software. The court approved the add/delete list balancing to the current tax rate in a record vote (4-1) and approved the ARPA and facilities budget amendments. Staff recommended and the court accepted scheduling the public hearings and the final vote on the proposed budget and tax rate for August 19 to satisfy statutory notice requirements.
