After discussion, the judge called the motion and the court voted to approve the 41-officer option "All in favor of the 41 line, say aye." The motion carried 5-to-0.
Commissioners and the sheriff agreed the hires will be phased to match training capacity and budget constraints, and asked staff to return with hiring schedules and further relief-factor refinement. The court also discussed using vacancy savings and contingency to manage short-term overtime until newly hired staff are trained and deployed.
