Ellis County Adopts Minor Amendments to 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan
Commissioners approved three sets of amendments to the 2024 Master Thoroughfare Plan: removal of an erroneously included private road (Indy Ranch Road), a 0.75-mile westward shift of Elders Ranch alignment to remain on developer property, and corrections to overlapping classifications on several roads (Curtis Ray, Armstrong, Sutton Road) with no county fiscal impact reported.

The county's Director of Development, Alberto Morris, presented proposed amendments to the 2024 Ellis County Master Thoroughfare Plan. The three main changes were: (1) remove Indy Ranch Road, which staff said was included in error; (2) shift the Elders Ranch alignment about 0.75 miles west so the thoroughfare lies within the developer’s property rather than splitting lots; and (3) correct conflicting classification widths on several roads (Curtis Ray Road and Armstrong Road to a uniform 100-foot classification; a cleanup in Midlothian and a Sutton Road overlap correction).
