Parker County proclaims Constitution Week

At the Weatherford DAR chapter’s request, the commissioner’s court proclaimed September 16–20, 2024 as Constitution Week in Parker County and recognized September 17 as Constitution Day; motion carried 5-0.
The County Judge presented a proclamation, requested by the Weatherford chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, to recognize Constitution Week in Parker County. Linda Schmidt, representing the chapter, asked the court to proclaim September 16–20 and specifically September 17 as Constitution Day; she offered the chapter’s help as volunteers for county activities ahead of the U.S. 250th anniversary in 2026.
The County Judge read the proclamation and asked for a motion. Commissioner Walden moved approval, Commissioner Holt seconded, and the motion carried 5-0. The court invited the chapter officers to come forward to receive the proclamation and arranged a photo opportunity afterwards.
