County GIS technician reports new address points, ESN mapping work

Andrew Meek, the Elko County GIS technician, updated the board on mapping and addressing work, saying, “47 address points have been added to Elko County since our last meeting” and that an additional 89 City of Elko address points were recently incorporated after a longstanding technical issue was temporarily fixed. Meek said he also added three new subdivision road names (Sofia's, Catherine's and Amaya's Way) and several fire-protection cisterns to the county GIS.
Meek told the board that ESN (emergency service number) layers needed by NGA/NextGen 911 for wireless and VoIP routing are still incomplete: “It's been a bit of a struggle trying to get that information,” he said, and he has been seeking GPS coordinates and boundary corrections to support tablet-command use by fire districts. He noted a planned biannual Motorola/Spillman data update this fall (likely September) and offered to arrange an EagleView/Connect Explorer "lunch and learn" for department staff to review imagery and parcel tools.
Board members thanked Meek and asked that any learning events or schedules be shared with the board and other public-safety partners. Meek said he will coordinate timing and reach out to agencies that may have mapping issues ahead of the next scheduled update.
