Elko County to study alternate Spring Creek route; no new debt planned now
County officials told the Debt Management Commission that they have updated their annual debt plan and are not planning to issue new debt now; the county is authorized to begin an engineering study to evaluate alternate routes from Spring Creek to the highway but said construction would be costly and contingent on funding.

An Elko County representative told the Debt Management Commission that the county's annual debt management plan and the indebtedness reports for subsidiary towns were updated and that "there's no new debt planned for the county" at this time. The representative noted the county currently has outstanding jackpot bonds and water revenue bonds but said county tax-rate capacity exists if projects proceed.
