County Attorney W. Phil Eldridge and Sheriff Tony Helms briefed the Commission on recent problems with several emergency sirens. Eldridge said the county's new radio system is digital while the sirens are still analog; some units fail the weekly 'silent test' after the radio upgrade, and service technicians have diagnosed interference and parts obsolescence.
