Commissioners fund Fourth on Broadway with $10,000 sponsorship
The court approved a $10,000 sponsorship for the 2026 Fourth on Broadway festival after a presentation by executive director Katie Sandifer, who described expanded programming and an estimated attendance of 100,000 and noted the event will move to the South Plains Fairgrounds.

Katie Sandifer, executive director and producer for this year’s Fourth on Broadway, told the court the event dates to 1991 and will include a parade, a ‘picnic under the stars,’ an evening concert and a fireworks display. "We have an estimated attendance every year of 100,000 people," Sandifer said, and she described new parade routing and partnership roles for Civic Lubbock and Stage Lehi Productions.
