The Putnam County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 19 to table consideration of a proposed rock quarry and to convene a special session on Sept. 17 at 9:00 a.m. Planning & Zoning Director Lisa Zeiner told the board that the Plan Commission "gave no recommendation on the rock query," and a citizens' representative asked for more time.
Eddy Felling, speaking for concerned residents, asked the board to delay action for at least 30 days. Commissioner David Berry moved to table the matter and set the special meeting; Commissioner Tom Helmer seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The special session will address the quarry proposal as the sole agenda item.
